Fragile Heart

by RB   Nov 8, 2007

Slowly descending down the staircase of doom,
My vision was blurred by tears of my past.

And then I fell.

Spiraling through the darkness,
Falling to my fate,
I was ready to die.

And then you caught me.

Looking in your eyes,
I found something rare,
Beauty and truth.

And then I fell in love.

I handed every inch of my heart to you,
For I trusted your gentle hands,
To take care of my fragile heart.

And then you dropped it.

Pieces of my heart covered the ground,
And you tried so hard to fix it,
But even you could not put it back together.

And I was heartbroken.
