Words Could Kill

by Ashley   Nov 8, 2007

Words used to be magical
Make me feel invincible
They used to fix everything
From a bruised ego to a broken heart

All you had to do to console me
Was whisper sweet nothings in my ear
But thats what they are now
Nothing

I used to soak up your words
Like they would cure all
But all they did was break me
And watch me fall

I believed there was emotion
Behind your words
But you meant nothing by them
Thats all they were to you--words.

I never thought I'd realize it
That you were using me
Leaving me helpless
With your proclamations of love

But love is nothing more than
Another word
You used to give my heart
A harder shove

Its ok though because soon I'll be deaf
To your cries
And your words
You can't help me with them now

They're now meaningless
Simply echoes blowing in the wind falling on deaf ears
Dead.
Joining me.
