No One About

by Dwite Fry   Nov 9, 2007

The pub always looks so big when it's empty
It's such a depressing thought
That a place that should be filled with fun
Is tonight filled with naught

You're not here, no one's here
There's a reasonable explanation
But now it just feels really odd
And I don't feel any jubilation
To sit and drink on my Todd

I'm sat at home
I've eaten on my own
locked the door and drawn the drapes
Fallen asleep, in front of Planet of the Apes

I get filled with self doubt when there's no one about
I think I'm being avoided

Cos you're not here, no one's here
There's no one with whom to converse
And no one will answer their phone
I'm really not so perverse
As to want to sit and drink on my own

I'm sat at home
I've eaten on my own
locked the door and drawn the drapes
Fallen asleep, in front of Planet of the Apes

I don't feel nowt when there's no one about
I just go home feel blue.

------APPENDIX--------

'On my Todd' slang for 'on my own' - 'nowt' northern british slang for 'nothing' - Planet of The Apes 1960s film starring Charlton Heston, not the Tim Burton one.
