Once Long Dead (Quatern)

by Laura Lamarca   Nov 9, 2007

Upon torn paths of thoughts to tread,
of memories past ~ once long dead;
reborn in corners of my mind,
for pain to dwell, no solace find.

In grief of barefoot fears once bled,
upon torn paths of thoughts to tread;
as tears stream down my weary face,
I walk old miles with weight retraced.

Each step now sings sweet sorrow's song
of arms' embrace...I yearn...I long;
upon torn paths of thoughts to tread,
to darkness and to dreams of dread.

Such sadness now still fills my cup
as eyes deny faith to look up,
to see light of love's hope instead
upon torn paths of thoughts to tread.
