I Chose You!

Giving up my dreams and hopes
Is a decision I had to make
Please don't begin to make me feel
As if I've made a huge mistake

An abundance of joy
I have found in this choice
I once followed my heart
And I continue with this inner voice

What little we get to share
Is really grand for me
Those times are the greatest
You are my security

You feel I complain
I simply express my thoughts
It used to make a difference
Now it seems all for naught

Where did I go wrong
In the choice I had made
I'm searching for answers
Proving your love I'd never trade

Each day of my life
I'm grateful that you are there
Wherever you are
For you I will always care

I've always told others
To express issues and concerns
Are a way of expressing love
So your hurt doesn't burn

If I ignored my worries
It means I don't care
That's far from the truth
So shy away, I can not dare

It's a risk I often take
My fears to explain to you
I wish you would stop and listen
Like you once loved to do

I love you with all my heart
Through laughter and all my tears
I hope you hold me tight
All throughout your years.

    Ohhh I LOVE this.

    I found this to be so moving and sweet and yet filled with so much melancholy simeutaneously, and for me that made a very powerful effect on the overall piece.

    I love the flow in this piece, it was beautiful throughout, and the words just rolled right from my tounge.

    The transistion between oppisite feelings really touched my heart, as so many people will be able to relate.

    I loved this poem. I understand it and can relate to it in some ways. As I'm sure many other people can. You expressed how you felt so deeply into this poem. I enjoy you love poems they hold alot of emotion within them. The flow was nicely the word choice simple yet effective. Well done. ~Mel

    WOW.. i seriously lovee this poem.. and i can soo relate to it.. especially today after arguing with my boyfriend..

    i loveee these 2 stanzas

    There are times when I feel exactly like this and that's when I write those sad love poems I do. You really expressed the feeling well and I felt every emotion that came out if this. I totally loved it. 5/5
