She is Me

by Lex   Nov 10, 2007

People says she's beautiful,
people say she's alright.
People say she's perfect,
but to herself she's just a lie.

So what if the jeans don't fit,
or her hair's a mess.
When her makeup doesn't matter,
in her mind it's none of this.

She'll cry all through the night,
but no one ever hears her call.
And when she reaches out,
she's just pushed and meant to fall.

Her face now blackened with tears,
she's not so pretty now.
Would you tell her she's beautiful
with her makeup running down?

Can't you see in her eyes,
it's not all rainbows and smiles?
If you look deep enough,
you'll see all the pain filled files.

She's trying to be strong,
but it doesn't work well when you're weak.
She can only hold up so long,
before she'll buckle at her knees.
