Sea of Emotion

Waves roll to the distant shore
An endless swell of power
Tears roll to the bloodied floor
Petals from a withered flower

Tides change, turning to and fro
A constant turbulent sea
Moods change, turning high to low
Calm I can never be

White foam tosses and breaks
Stallions in their might
White faces cannot take
Suicide in the night

Tall trains crash on the sand
Pawing away the grains
Sharp knives slash my hand
Clawing into the pain

Damp sand pushed by the tide
Dragging back and forth
Damp tears pushed inside
Twisted with that force

Stormy seas scream beware
Boats their only prey
Stormy emotions of despair
My life to be taken away

Waves clash and batter the rocks
Eroding the cliff face
Insults, pressure, and too many knocks
Forever leave their trace

Splashes of stinging, salty drops
Fly, as waves tumble
Splashes of cold tears cease to stop
As I fall and stumble

Lapping ripples ebb and flow
Pouring into pools
Patchwork scars too wide to sow
Pouring blood from fools

Strong tides pull seaweed under
Tangled in a knot
Battling thoughts make me blunder
Even lose the plot

As thunder clouds drift away
The surface appears calm
Yet I assure you, they're only at bay
To rise again and harm

The sparking surface doesn't reveal
Misty depths below
My dancing smile looks so real
Dark fathoms never show

Yet If you were to take a dip
By the speed of a blink
You would fall, flail and flip
And slowly start to sink

Fighting waves snatch life from shells
Their grip is uncurled
Inner dreams snatch sanity from hell
My grip on the world

No light penetrates depths so deep
A grey mirage of tombs
Yet, down here I'm left to weep
In the silent gloom
