I Thought I Was The One

It was a Wednesday afternoon,
he walks into class and sits next to her
writes in a note "will you go out with me?"
very kindly she writes back
"I am sorry but I am seeing someone".
Time goes by, it's been 3 years
he See's her again and,
those feelings come back to him.
They start talking for hours asking how life's been
and within short time they become best friends.
Knowing that she isn't with her ex anymore
he asks once again "will you be my girlfriend?"
she replies "maybe, lets see what time says!".
Slowly within time her feelings start to grow
and she starts to let them show.
The moment came when they said I love you for the first time
They were both so nervous
for that one first special kiss.
He was so happy that she felt the same way
But that one summer night everything changed.
They had something so extraordinary
And he blew everything away
Now he left her with a broken heart
She calls him to pour her heart out and say
"I opened my heart to you
I cant believe you played me for a fool,
when I really fell in love with you,
You meant the world to me
I thought you said I was the one
The mother of your kids, your wife!
the one girl you wanted to live a life,
but everything is gone now
just memories to be erased
our time flew by so quick
I can't believe I'm here talking to you
sadly knowing I have to,
even if you don't love me anymore
and even if your not listening and ignoring me
I want to say goodbye but deep inside of me
I wish I was saying "Hi", like the first time
I'm going to love you all my life,
maybe one day you'll realize what you lost"
