Battle For Evermore

by NightFlyer   Nov 11, 2007

In the realm of the king,
His sign, the crescent moon and Mars,
I was called to conquest,
An eternal command from on high,
We gather on the midnight plain,
With marble horses and ivory swords,
To plan for the attack in the battle for evermore,
The king, he calls, draws his forces at night,
On plains of obsidian and garnet,
The battle cry draws near,
On high the herald,
I march on command to the realm of misty knights,
Marching under a purple insignia,
The god Mars and his forces in battle array,
From his castle of garnet bricks,
A glowing bastion over the final battle,
I ride my starry steed to the lavender mountains of midnight,
Advancing forth to the flaming beacons atop the cloudy slopes,
and answer his call.

Thank you for your kind comment. Before writing the poem, I looked up at the night sky, and my thoughts started drifting to the age of knights. Glad I captured these thoughts in poetry.
