Endless Steps

by Indian Comma Bean   Nov 12, 2007

Thoughts going through my head,
Walking up steps that never end,
Not to long till my mind goes dead,
Feet stumble as emotions bend.

Fingers crawl through greasy hair,
Figures scream, I simply cry,
Flooded by grief I cannot bear,
Please God, just let me die.

Staring at a frequent friend, this iron fiend,
Clenched tight in limp, numb hands,
My soul leaves me; I'm unclean
My spirit that of blood-soaked sands.

Why has this affliction chosen me,
I no longer have that simple dream,
This anguish leaves me all but free,
All this pain, I need to scream!

Thoughts running through my head,
Feet stumble as emotions bend,
Not to long till my mind goes dead,
I'm stuck climbing steps that never end.
