THE DARK DOG OF DEPRESSION

by Tracey777taintedslitta   Nov 12, 2007

I hear it breathing behind me
rancid breath tearing into my skin
it growl and snarls
it's yellow blood-satined teeth gleam

Devil-red eyes glisten and shine
nose wrinkled in anger and delight
claws sharpened and skinned
rearing to attack and feast

it's monstrous body quivers with excitement
midnight fur raised as spikes and nails
howling into my ear it cackles
egging me on...its time for it's meal

flesh and teeth, blood and bone
it goes straight for my soul
ravaging and ripping, tearing and abusing
nothing but shreds left, just shattered and broken like a promise

taking over my mind
it lies to rest in my conscience
chanting victory into my insanity
the dark dog is here to stay..

    Tracey,

What you need to do is find peace within yourself. Create an image of a place you love most, like a lake for example. When you feel like you cannot take it anymore, go there and just stare at the sunset and let your mind come to rest. All the answers you are looking for are to be found within yourself. It is when the storm within you dies you will see the answers...clearly as if they were always there, just waiting for you to be discovered.

    Take care, my brave friend!

    5/5 Ingrid
