Magnolia Trees

by Anna   Nov 13, 2007

Crowded streets wrap around a golden river
take my hand and i will lead you
feel the cold wind start to shiver
follow me to somewhere new
midnight skies are dark and starry
moonlight fading into morning
follow me i'll show you the truth
dew is forming on the leaves of thick rose bushes and magnolia trees
i walk away and find a seat on a rock along the moonlit creek
stare at the sky and close my eyes
breathe in the clean fresh morning breeze
take in the moment let it freeze
let it sink into my mind
do you fully understand
i have you here, you took my hand
so do you really understand
lay down here on beds of roses
kiss me here and rub our noses
love can only be perfect in a place like this
fall asleep and close you're eyes
wake up to the warm sunrise
and wake me with your gentle kiss

This is a really sweet poem. Very cute. I could just imagine this happening. The first line brought me in and your descriptions created a great scene. Well written.
