Regret

Regret

Day after day we take something for granted,
Somebody we love,
Or something we've demanded,

Nothing lasts forever,
Love,
Lust,
Or Glee,

Someday we'll lose everything that makes us happy,
Our cousins,
Our sisters,
Our brothers,
Our friends,

Someday,
Some how,
All comes to an end,

Girlfriends,
Boyfriends,
Best friends,
Family,
In the end all of them leave,

It's a harsh lesson,
One that must be learnt,
Over and over,
Again and again,

Our hearts,
They will break,
Ache,
To take back the mistake,

The one we made not long ago,
When we fought over something so typical,
And we lost the best thing we ever had,
That one mistake that drives us mad,

And how do we go on,
Knowing the thing we need most is forever gone?

We make the same mistake,
Day by day,
Not realizing,
That right now could be the day,
The day we'll never let them hear us say;

I love you,
I miss you,
I hear you,
I need you,

I'll be here whenever you need,
A friend,
A shoulder,
A hug,
A heart,

A place to stay when you're
Cold,
Alone,
Stuck in the dark,

I'll be here,
And stand by you,
Forever and always,
I'll love you,

In a moment,
Our whole world can change,
In minutes,
Simply re-arrange,

Over when it just began,
A relationship,
Or losing a friend,

And deep regret lives in our hearts,
Slowly,
But surely,
Tears us apart,

So be sure,
The next time you make a joke,
Or swing a hit,
Ignore a chance,
That could be it,

Don't make the same mistake again,
Cause next time it could mean the end,
Guaranteed,
They'll disappear,
If we don't show them we need them here,

And we'll live each day as if it's the last,
Forever and ever,
With them in our hearts,

Don't forget it,
You wont regret it.
