Passing Age

by HollywoodSmile   Nov 13, 2007

You crawl to your feet
as a child you experience triumph and defeat
you discover new places, new ways
soon comes the end of you childhood days

now is the time for you to rebel
you'll decide take on the devil
you try to decide
between happiness and pride

you wrap your fingers around adulthood
be careful, do what you should
responsibility falls on you
be cautious of what you do

life starts to reapeat itself
you cant remember the child inside yourself
you think about the days before
when birthdays came too slow and you always wanted more

weakness you undergo
theres nothing left for you to know
your body grows older
your heart goes colder

this life was good, not the best, but well lived
you don't think you'll make it to one hundred
youve done all there is to do
death has now come, this time for you

(for Damont, happy birthday! sorry, i know its kind of grim, but thats just me.)
