Testing Waters

by Melissa   Nov 14, 2007

I could bask along the shorelines
of a man's aquatic soul
for quite some time really
and wade through his mysterious depths
of undiscovered secrets
where truth holds new meaning
not only heard by ears

Squish my toes
between gritty contemplation
and a wave so restless
it could pulsate a heart into overdrive
until fear finally surges
chest's own capability
to feel
the uncertainty of love

again

You use words in fresh and unexpected ways. Yet there is always great clarity - and heart - in your work.

    Melissa,
This is truly an amazing piece...it makes me think of a time that I wasn't sure if I was in love or not but wanted to "bask along the shorelines" to see if it truly was love or not...very deep and very well penned. AMAZING!!

Now this is what I`m talking about!! So great to see you back Melissa, you were definitely missed. I loved the first stanza so much, you have been on my faves list for years, here is one reason why. Timothy r
