Winter Wonderland

by Alexandra Jade Brewer   Nov 15, 2007

Winter may bare
A cold and windy chill
But that doesn’t affect
How we love it still

A thick white blanket
Covers the ground
With kids playing
In snowy cold mounds

Newspapers are full
Of Christmas flyers
As couples cuddle
By warm comforting fires

Walking through trails
While it is snowing
Clasping his or her hand
With a winter wind blowing

Skating gracefully
Or ending up in a heap
Dreaming of sugarplums
As you sleep

Winter creates
The prettiest sounds
With Christmas carols
Or snow crunching on the ground

So no matter how cold
That chilly winter air
Enjoy the season
And the people there.

This poem made me smile. Most probably because winter is my favourite season of the year. I love everything about it. Not only because it has my favourite holiday, Christmas, during it, but because I love the cold weather it brings, the glistening snow, and the opportunity to sit in front of a burning fire and just relax.

    Wonderful poem. Thanks for sharing.
