American Nightmare

American Nightmare

I'm sick of waiting on the world to change

We lie to the youth who's future isn't that strange.

Sayin they can grow up to be anybody

All they gotta do is buckle down and study.

If thats true why do we have bums livin on the street

Covered in tattered clothes and no shoes on their feet.

If you're sick you better be dying

Hospitals reject the uninsured without even tryin.

Then they go home to watch their 5 TV's

Knowing less about the government and more about celebrities.

Medicine is just a quick fix used so they dint have to listen

Kids forced to take pills for everything their missin.

Gas prices take the money straight from our pockets

While the companies only care how high their stock is.

This country is back wards straight reversed

The laws I'll tell ya are the reason were cursed.

Our government wastes money on saving Iraq

Overseas affairs how bout bringing our soldiers back.

Lost so many kids just so they have a working government

When really over here we lost sight of why they really went.

There's no easy solution for any problem

But instead of not trying we need to take time and solve em.

We need to speak up for all the times we couldn't

We need to rise up even when we shouldn't.

It's time we end this American nightmare

It's time we rise as a people and begin to care.

Forget the government and their stupid scheme

It's time to go back to the original American dream.
