Watch

by Thomas   Nov 16, 2007

As the hours slip away and the time just passes through,
I look down at my watch, in fear; I'm missing you,
It doesn't have a pretty face like you, and I doubt that it could see,
How even though not pretty, it gives everything to me,

The strap soon grabs my wrist, everytime I decide to let go,
Which in turn reminds me of you, in every way I love you so,
And when its face glows brighter, everytime I look and see,
I'm reminded of your face, so with this watch I want to be,

And should you go away again, the time short or long,
I turn straight to my watch, with its hands I play a song,
As time ticks by I hear you, and with its hands I begin to draw,
An image of you to last me, but with your smile being the flaw,

Those extra seconds just pass by, as I stare deep in your eyes,
And by looking at this watch, I'm reminded of past tries,
I wish its hands could hold mine, I doubt it could understand,
that instead of its strap right now, I wish it was you holding my hand,

I guess that time may tell me, to look at more than just the face,
There is something special, that gives this watch its place,
So as I look closer, as I see the face and through,
I realise I don't need a watch, when the thing I want is you.

Yes, I do like the way the watch was used. Just remember to capitalize your I's. Also, I like using the hands on the clock as to the hands of a person. 5/5
