Survivor

by I love you always and today   Nov 17, 2007

I'm just sitting here and thinking
As I watch you pack your clothes
Listening to the telephone that's ringing
Knowing your getting ready to fight for strangers, friends, and even foes

I know who it was
So I already started to tear up and shake
I know your going just because of the law
And than I got a head ache

I know your turning into a hero
But I want you to stay
How can you not know
But I promise every night I'll sit and pray

You answered it and agreed to what they said
But than walked up to me and said you love me
But i tried to tell you soon you might be dead
But than you just disagreed

You gave me my final kiss and wiped away my tears
Might even be the last feeling of your lips on mine
But as you walked out you started to cry and said there is nothing to fear
And said you'll be just fine

Every month I would sit by the phone and checked the T.V.
Looked at all the solders who has been killed
And checked to see if your name was the one I see
Than my eyes were filled

And I started to cry
But I wasn't so sad
I cried so much my tears became dry
Because what I saw wasn't so bad

Your coming home today
And your still alive
God must've heard my prays
Because your one to survive

In a week or so you walked through the door
And saw a smile across my face
You dropped your bags to the floor
And realized this is your place

The beginning starts off a little rough and all, but as I kept reading it got better and better. This is an amazing poem overall. :]
