We are just shells made of bone and flesh
What we hold inside is larger than life and death
But we were born into a world forgotten of who we are
Blind beyond the dark blanket behind each star

Our senses tell us whatever we need to see or hear
Fed with only the lies that hide a truth so clear
This world, this life is nothing more than a mask
The face behind it is too afraid to even ask

It's such a sad way to perceive such a fate
But only now have I realized where to put this hate
Wasting all this time, trying to make things right
Falling beyond the grasps of self control tonight

Ask yourself why you are even here?
For money, for fame, for someone to love dear?
But once those possessions are gone in the end
The world doesnt stop to let your broken heart mend

Instead you are forced to hide it all away
Living like a smiling zombie for another day
Struggling through life's hardships for a gain
But how much of this is really worth all the pain?

I am merely an outsider looking in
And all I see are people dying within
Forced to live for something they cant even see
Choking down their feelings for all they could be

So today Im taking a stand for what I feel
This is for all those who refuse to be real
This is the day to rethink the paths you're on
Or live each day hoping this wont last long

Well guess what, this is what they call life
And it'll cut you open like one sharp knife
No matter all the mistakes you've made here today
Forget the memories, forget the things you want to say

Right now things are going to change with or w/o you
I'm tired of trying to fix things that I just cant do
My energy is gone and I can no longer smile
Becuase I've walked this before, mile after mile

And it feels so lonely knowing nobody feels the same
I just can't shake this feeling that I'm stuck in a game
A game that doesnt give you second chances to win
If the screen says Game Over there's no starting again
