Good Riddence

by Vincent Thornsberry   Nov 18, 2007

I don't know why you hate me
It was not I who tried to sedate thee
Thou has turned against my trust
Ye say it is something you must
Do to continue to survive
It was I who helped you thrive
Mine heart was yours
Now ye continues to pull thy oars
Ye continues to drift away
While I only wish to stay
So take thy devils and let me be
For I no longer wish to see
That which has left me scarred
Thou has ireparibly marred
Mine life, Mine love, and all mine beliefs
Now I hope thee sinks to the lowest of reefs

The rhyme scheme is questionable. I dont quite understand why this particular style was chosen, as it kinda takes from the seriousness. However the words and vocabulary, the detail. These overcome it. Its amazing.

I loved the shakespear feeling you portrayed with your word choice throughout this poem. It was really great and flowing. This poem had alot of emotion hidden within each line which you expressed nicely to create something capturing. Overall this piece was a great read which I did enjoy. Well done. Keep up the great work. ~Mel
