Pain in Glory

by skynerraw   Nov 18, 2007

Some men cheer
As some men weep
Kneeling by the bodies,
Piled beneath their feet

A weak fist holds
A sharp metal stump
But thrust into the gut
The man begins to slump

Sword to sword,
The battle was fought
The deaths, lead to glory
And victory has been sought

But where are the gods?
In all of this death
Can they save these lives?
Or just scavange whats left

The blood is thickening
But the battle has been fought
The wounds are healing
But with glory, death is naught

On top of a mountain
A banner held high
For if our bodies lie dead
The fire in our souls, will never die
