When Will The World End?

by Matter Of Fact   Nov 18, 2007

Woke up too late and I've wasted a day
Shouldn't care so much but I'm wasting away
My get up and go seems to have got up and left
Must have slipped out the door as I laid here to rest

Lets see what happens as The Sun starts to rise
Its the dawn of deceit and telling more lies
Snapshots were somehow leaked to the press
But the editor don't care if they cause a distress

They'll tell us all who we must detest
The panic button will surely get pressed
Cos they're saying terror is not far away
But they've been saying that for years and a day

Too sick and too tired of worshiping heroes
And fed up of inflating their wallets and egos
I must admit I find peace in their deaths though
When all of their assets are really worth zero

This surely now is our biggest test
I am no leader I have to confess
I know all the questions I just don't have the answers
But I know theres a light hidden behind all this darkness

This lack of ambition sums up the nation
Living in fear of the suns radiation
Sea levels rising but we're drowning our sorrows
We're too blind to see that we don't need to follow

For a kingdom united the names such a fake
We're only united when our pride is at stake
But theres no pride in this country so let them eat cake
For defeat is the victory we all love to hate

What is wrong with our school's education?
Promoting hate and experimentation
The Government shouts "don't be so dramatic!"
They only say that cos they're all drug fanatics

And then they all seem to think that war is a game
Whether you win or you lose you can start it again
With the intelligence stored in a digital brain
The thought of a failure is purely insane

Technology's faulty but who is to blame?
The machines or the master that lent them his name
When destruction comes nearer what will we do then?
When Frankensteins monster starts to seek his revenge

And so I'll leave you with my thoughts of the day
You can take them or leave them and throw them away
This world was so wondrous but there's not much left
So think about that as you lay down to rest
