Teardrops in her eyes

Driving down the road tonight
After hours of drinking off her pain
She cried tears of sadness
As she strolled down memory lane

She looked at her empty ring finger
She is married but with no symbolization
Knowing that her vows taken before God
Was not a part of her future equation

She knows that mathematically
He is a simple substitution
And that future happiness
Depended on evolution

Never quite the school girl
As being street smart was her strength
Coping with what life handed her
Even if it meant having another drink

Another dose of happiness
For it became her happy pill
It helped her handle the day to day
And deal with unpaid bills

Hiding all of her sadness
Smiling for that little girl
Trying to be the best Mommy
While living a secret life in hell

If anyone looked close enough
And looked through her disguise
They would see a lonely lady
Smiling through the teardrops in her eyes
