Black

by Kelvin Williams aka Bloodhound   Nov 19, 2007

Black is the color of the midnight sky
The sweetness of mother's homemade blackberry pie
The color of the tears my inner demon cries
Whenever a deep and very close friend dies.

Black is the result of my African heritage
That helped me develop my skin's own melanin
When the berry's black, it gets sweet like maple is
Black, therefore, is the color that's my favorite.
