Why Hold On To The Past?

by Anthony Vasconez   Nov 19, 2007

After living in a dark past
Where I felt alone and gray
I meet this shy, quiet, sole man
Whose mind seemed to be astray

At first we seemed to get along
As if we were friends forever
But then started to somehow clash
Losing touch until whenever

But whenever did come about
And we both seem to reunite
We learned more about each other
Then we did from that awful night

If I knew then what I know now
I would have understood him more
Rather then departing badly
Leaving us both bitter and sore

But as the days and nights pass by
Our friendship continues to grow
And I learned more about him now
Then I once did two years ago

But as we grow stronger with time
And things start going well again
My new friendship with this person
Should never dare come an end
