Reflection

by Daisy Wells   Nov 20, 2007

Every direction i turn, i see the image i despise
Clutching at my heart strings, no one hears my cries
Staring back at me all i see is hatred
Something once perfect is now so cold and tainted

Makeup, covered the evil that lurked beneath her skin
And thoughts of anger and malice behind that innocent grin
The act she has perfected through out all the years
Is seeping through slowly, confirming all her fears

She's crippled from the pain inflicted upon her soul
As it bubbles up inside her she struggles to keep control
All she feels is envy for the person she once obtained
She's helpless in this world she feels emotionally drained

She tries to rid the guilt of what she has become
And every inch of her just wants to scream and run
There is no path to change this beaton heartless complexion
The image starring back is my mirrored reflection!
