I've Got A Fear Of Flying

by ABake   Nov 21, 2007

Right when I met you, you lifted me off my feet,
I couldn't handle the happiness and you knew it.
Late in the night as you held me close, I whispered:
"I've got a fear of flying & sweetie you make me soar"

We have been invincible for so long; love is all we know
My fears are tearing me apart, and you're a part of me;
When this happens you [never] let us go...
When I am holding on for life, you fight my challenges.

You have always killed my fears, but one is still here;
"I've got a fear of flying & sweetie you make me soar"
I've started to close my heart so you couldn't love me,
You break past my barrier slowly lifting me up again...

I am shaking uncontrollably and your holding me tight;
For one split second I am not scared; but I can't breathe
I am screaming for you to put me down, but you refuse.
You say:

"You may have a fear of flying but I've got a fear of losing you"

    AMAZING. I LOVE THIS.
    I love the use of something solid like a fear of flying can be connected to being loved. It's so inspirational. This made me smile, and it was just so beautiful and full of emotion. You are VERY talented.

    You definitely have a way with words. I particularly loved the line "I've got a fear of flying and sweetie you make me soar," It's a lovely paraodox that fits in nicely with the piece. Great piece 5/5

    A little repetitive, but that added a fistload magic to it ^_^
