I am in the Lilies

by N J Thornton   Nov 21, 2007

I am in the lilies that surround you,
and then in the light.
I am here in every light,
you needn't look into the sky
because I am right by your side.

Close your eyes, and put your
hand on your heart.
I am the feeling of love deep inside
and I am the beat.

If you find yourself overwhelmed
by life and need a friend for comfort,
just look in the mirror and
wipe away your tears because
I am in your reflection.

I am the rhythm in your favourite
song; the words you hold dear.
I am in every word you share with me,
I hear you.

If you listen you'll hear me too,
not in the voice of your memories
but I am the breeze of summer,
the leaves of autumn, the flakes
of winter, and the lilies of spring.

I am in the lilies surrounding us,
and I am in the light, in every light.

    Wow.
    I really like that, Hun.
    It's quite amazing.
It was like flawless perfection. (:

You did a wonderful job, once again.

While I do enjoy your poems, and believe me you have an amazing sense of description in this poem as always specifically I am the beat, but I do not find it as good as most of the poems I have read from you mainly at this point:
    and then in the light.
I am here in every light

It just feels it is repeating somewhat the same thing and the ending does not leave me with the amount of awe that the whole middle of the poem had me feeling. I still like it though as much of your works.
