Picture In A Frame

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 22, 2007

Years go by unnoticed,
My thoughts no longer wander,
To slip inside your memory,
In hopes that you still ponder.

Where I am in life?
Do I still look back?
Did I move on long ago,
And find what you did lack.

Yet here I sit remembering,
That love so long ago,
One picture caused your memory,
To blanket me like snow.

Cold, yet oh so beautiful,
Glad you're just a thought,
For nothing could replace,
The lessons I was taught.

A sacrifice to build my strength,
Pain to build my heart,
Wrapped up in this dusty box,
A picture of the start.

The only time I wish to know,
The times which made me smile,
Bitter blood is running warm,
I reminisce a while.

I'll tuck you back inside the box,
Your tattered, weathered frame,
Representing how we fell,
Angels drowned in shame.

    To slip inside your memory,
In hopes that you still ponder.

    Your tattered, weathered frame,

I like the way you write in such unique simplicity... These lines deeply touched me.. Memories are such precious things and you express it perfectly in this poem... I am truly impressed by this poem...

    A great write... 5/5!

A reminder that althought the past is behind us...sometimes it does return to remind us of that which was lost and the lessons taught to make us who we have become today....

    "Yet here I sit remembering,
    That love so long ago,
    One picture caused your memory,
    To blanket me like snow."

^funny how those pictures serve as reminders good or bad of what once was....good to look and then move on....

Nicely written...flawless in rhyme and flow....a joy to read! Take care, Debbie
