Me Against The World (Triolet)

by Jenni Marie   Nov 22, 2007

Broken promises and betrayed oaths all I'm accustomed to
Now finally accepting the fact that I'm always completely alone
Almost every single day feeling out of my depth, lost and blue
Broken promises and betrayed oaths all I'm accustomed to
No longer sure that I'm strong enough to make it through
No more happy thoughts, only woeful ones now roam
Broken promises and betrayed oaths all I'm accustomed to
Now finally accepting the fact that I'm always completely alone

**For A Contest**

Oh, this was painful. How sad. I think you did a great job with this Triolet. Very nicely written, it flowed so full.

Considering this is a short structure for a poem I think you display your message within it really nicely. Really strong images and nice use of vocabulary really boost this nicely written piece of poetry.
As I always say, it's the shorter poems that stay in peoples minds longer as they pack a bigger punch (so to speak), they have to get their point across in so few words.

It's such a sad piece, really letting the reader into your state of mind.

Nice work yet again on this one.
