I'll miss you forever my friend

by Tracy D Rollings   Nov 22, 2007

Life is something we all take for granted

we get so tied up in our everyday activity's

and we seem to forget the most important

things that mean so very much to us all

neglecting the things that we should pay

more attention to and appreciate but

that's not the way it is in the real world

family and friends mean the most to us

and that's the things we neglect the most

what happens when they are all gone

what do we have left in our lives then

the things that made us happy are now gone

and we're left to face this world all alone

stop and think about what really means the most

to you and me and ask yourself is this what really counts

are is it the all mighty dollars and having so much fun

that we don't have time to think of the ones that do count

so many people put their lives on the line everyday for you and me

ask yourself how many times you stop top think of them

and is what they are doing worth it all to you.

This isn't a poem , its written because I lost someone that meant the world to me

someone that put his life on the line everyday to make this a better place to live

he will be remembered forever , to my friend Ted you will be missed ..©2007 Tracydr42

I completely understand the point that you were trying to make tracey. At the end of the day life is too short to spend arguing and ignoring eachother and once its gone, the people that are left behind need the kind of closure that they may not be able to get now that the person is gone. Its important to tell those dear to you, friends and family how much they are loved and apreciated. I thought that your piece was a touching tribute to your friend, and for what its worth my condolences for your loss. lots of love sian. x

The blood of a poets broken heart shows up well on the white page with words that show the cracks and depths of that wounded heart. Keep up the good works.

Wow! I really like this! It makes me want to cry. Poetry and writing stuff like this is how I "get away." It remeinds me of the people who ment so much ti me that I don't have anymore.
