Execution

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 23, 2007

Taken down by loves sweet kiss,
All you held, but now dismiss,
Laying broken on the floor,
Bleeding all you ever wore.

A heart upon a tattered sleeve,
Barely beating, no reprieve,
Drenched in all the good you've done,
Pretty holes, a smoking gun.

Left behind to die alone,
A wingless dove, in life unknown,
Dead for all the world to see,
The only one who's truly free.

A victim of the growing rage,
A star upon the silent stage,
Lost to those who could not hear,
You scream in vain, as death grew near.

Loved it, especially the last stanza.
very powerful word choice. I also really like the flow of the poem.
