A Friend to Lift Me Up

by МÅťťђĕш Яĕĩŋĕßĕřg   May 11, 2004

Walking along on a track leading nowhere,
This road that never seems to have an end
I stop and think and I always wonder
Will I like what is behind the next bend?
My feet are aching, my legs are so sore
From trudging through a bog of mud and sand
One slip and I'd get sucked into the depths
I know I need to have a saving hand
So lift me up, when I fall down or trip.
Lift me from the shadows of the quick-sand.
Raise me out of the murky water deep.
Raise me up to where it's safe, on the land.
A fall will make my gaze turn up and then.
I know a friend can pick me up again.
