He's Comin' Home. [[A Soldiers' Poem]]

by Teria   Nov 23, 2007

He's Comin' Home.

I can only imagine the pain he's in,
and all he's committed - every sin.
Just take it slow, that's what I'll do.
I know this can only end up okay;
hopefully I'll know exactly what to say.

My love, he's comin' home tonight.
I heard he's finally won the fight.
With battles lost and tears shed -
He's comin' home to me for good,
and I'll love him more than I thought I could.

With pride becoming stronger,
I can't wait a minute longer.
To see the face of the one I love -
To hold him close, watch reality disappear,
to see memories and no longer fear.

My love, he's comin' home tonight.
I heard he's finally won the fight.
With battles lost and tears shed -
He's comin' home to me for good,
and I'll love him more than I thought I could.

And, he drops his bags, my tears won't yield.
I've finally let down the barrier shield.
The look I see is more than I imagined -
a love filled man losing all masculinity;
he's more than I dreamed he'd ever be.

My love, he's came home tonight.
I heard he's finally won the fight.
With battles lost and tears shed -
He's came home to me for good,
and I'll love him more than I thought I could.
