All i had

All i had was him
he was all i wanted in my life
one day he didn't come home
i said to myself,he just got held back
but as i laid in bed
waiting to hear the sound of the door open
the phone rang
i picked it up quickly,thinking it was him on the other line
but it wasn't
it was another man's voice
telling me he had a bad crash
i hurried to the hospital
asked the doctor where the room was
they led me to it
he was lying there
helplessly
no movement
i waited in the hallway all night
until the doctor came to me with a look of sorrow
on his face
I'm sorry he said but we couldn't do anything for him
i went home that night with no feeling in my body
