Someday We'll Be Free

No doubts about this life,
It's where we're meant to be,
Giving up on fear,
And learning to be free.

Pain, it clouds the mind,
If you never let it go,
Don't let the bad things fester,
It's how the dark does grow.

Trust you know what's right,
You hold a voice inside,
Don't let others break you,
Never run and hide.

Being who you are,
It's not an easy task,
Especially for those of us,
Who live behind the mask.

But what else do you have?
What else can you give?
A false facade, such nothingness,
It is no way to live.

Break free from your jailer,
Conformity comes with cost,
Be unafraid of who you are,
Before all hope is lost.

Before death falls upon your step,
Regret knocks on your door,
Do not be the one who hears it,
Calling evermore.

The caged bird sings for all it longs,
Only free in mind,
Find the strength you hold inside,
Break the ties that bind.

    Oh, I forgot to add .. The last stanza is simply brilliant, it's almost a summary of what to do when you get this feeling of being trapped. Fantastic way to finish this piece.

    I think anybody that reads this piece will be able to relate to this. It doesn't seem to refer to any one incident in life .. It's about life itself! At some point in our lives we all feel caged or trapped; unsure what to do to free ourselves. You touch on something everyone will have to deal with.

    Flawless flow in this piece, but I've come to expect nothing less.

    A really solid rhyme scheme coupled with great use of vocabulary make this a thoroughly great piece of writing.

    An inspirational read.. I admire the way you write in this poem.. Immaculate flow of words and written with honest emotion and interpretation... It's easy to relate to this poem considering that it's about being trapped and I am awed by your words and the images you potray... Very enchanting...
