Something Wicked (Acrostic)

by Daisy if you do   Nov 24, 2007

Shrieks of maniacal laughter
Often invade my thoughts.
Memories of my childhood
Escaped until recently
They came flooding back
Haunting relentlessly
Invading my mind
Never ceasing causing
Gangrene of life

Wishing
I could rewind the
Clock of life to
Kill a memory
Escaping mental
Damage

This is very clever. I'm not overly familiar with acrostic poetry but you haven't let the discipline of the form restrict your flow and sense of imagery.
    Well done and Merry Christmas!

    Kay,

In those lines you have written down so much information about your childhood.
The sound of a deranged person laughing is the most frightening sound in the world...
Almost impossible to forget and as one grows older the memories seem to become more vivid instead of fading to the background...very hard to deal with.
    I know.

    Take care,

    5/5 Ingrid

Kay you have reached into my mind and captured my thoughts dear friend.
I love this entire piece from beginning to end .... as I also do love this form also.

After reading the entire piece I sat back and when "WOW" .... for the title totally matched the piece.

Awesome read .... and a wonderfully penned acrostic Kay

Excellent job on this form. Imagery and word choices are great. What a very sad piece.
