The Lost Souls

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 25, 2007

Swirling through the velvet mist,
Full of wants that won't subsist,
They choose to stay here, now confined,
Screaming for what's left behind.

Hollow souls who lost their way,
Afraid to go, but cannot stay,
Destroyed by time and deep regret,
Afraid the ones they love forget.

All the love and all the care,
They meant to give, but did not share,
They words they never got to say,
Haunting past their dying day.

Do not be another one,
Who longs for what can't be undone,
Speak to all who pass your way,
And touch your sweet life everyday.

I like how you have done a different rhyme style in this piece, most of your work (from what I've read) only has two rhyming lines. I like the aabb rhyme structure.

Wonderful vibrant images displayed in this piece, really bring it to life in the readers mind.

Really nicely written piece of work.
