Back in Birkenau

by Helene   Nov 25, 2007

Prologue:
For we are all just humans,
And humankind is raw.
We feast from evil that we breed,
And live to bend the law.
Now look, what we let happen,
Years back in Birkenau,
We swore it wouldn't be again,
But still it does somehow:

A thousand restless bodies,
Soulless slaves of Hell,
Starving each and one of them,
Talking to themselves,
Step by step theyre marching,
Forward to their death,
A line of persecuted,
No soul, no live, just breath,.

The rain is pouring harder,
On wounded, naked skin,
And bare feet sweeping through the mud,
Bodies weary, thin.
And either one is trembling,
From famine and from fear,
Seeing ghosts in eyes of those,
That either one held dear.

A thousand dying heartbeats,
With lack of all identity,
Degraded to a number,
Loosing love and liberty.
A marching line of zombies,
They never got to bid farewell,
When they felt death awaiting,
Before the Gates of Hell.

Yours
