Rain drops frozen on the peddle of a rose

by Teria   Nov 25, 2007

And you can stare me down with those gorgeous eyes,
beat me with those roughened, dry-skinned hands of yours.
Throw my time right out the window along with your clothes.

No more sleep overs, darling - you've had your share of me.
It's time to watch the clock tick away right beside your brain,
of which is filled with feeble excuses of why you're insane.

It's about time I see you turn around and walk away,
It was getting a bit too cold inside these blankets
nestled against your somehow coldish tan chest.

Longer nights I've stayed awake dreaming of your death-
tonight I can rest in peace, aware of no more corny lines.
There were so many that I lost count at thirty-five [a day].

And, I can see it in your eyes, the pain shallowed within.
The joy I get from all of this a tad bit evil and I don't care.
Since, I am tired of these games that we play too often.

And, rain drops frozen on the peddle of a rose -
that watches you walk right out my door stealing the joy;
and, they're glaring at the abstract color of their vase,
completely annoyed at how long it took me to realize all of this.
(You are two faced)

It's amazing how long it takes us to actually realize a person we once thought we knew, isn't that person at all. Excellent job with this poem and a fantastic title - 5/5 GG23
