Don't Say Goodbye

by lost in the words   Nov 26, 2007

The words grew at her mouth.
But she found she could not speak.
For her heart was broken into two.
And her soul was left weak.

The tears flowed from her eyes.
Like waterfalls they fell.
Felt the rage inside her burn.
Burning like the fires of hell.

But she knew it was her fault.
On others, she couldn't blame.
For it was she who made the mistakes.
And it was she who felt the shame.

And she couldn't cover up,
All the lies that she had told.
For she was outsmarted,
In this game of the witty and old.

So here she sits all alone,
With the real truth in her hand.
But she couldn't compel herself to tell
Knowing they won't understand.

So she holds the truth inside
Not willing to ever let it out.
And she prays to get back the love.
She's always dreaming about.

She believes in second chances.
For everybody makes mistakes.
And she's truly sorry for her actions.
That caused him pain and heartbreak.

But if he doesn't want to give that chance,
She will completely understand why.
For she was selfish and stupid,
And that's the reason for her goodbye.

Gosh I love all the poems that you write but this one is my favorite. I broke up wit my Ex for the stupidest reason ever. Because When I get close to people I get scared and think they'll hurt me...It's kinda like..A girl who didn't wanna be broken so badly, that she broke the only one that would never break her. 5/5...I wish I could vote more then once...lol

Great, really. There is a lot of truth in this poem. Truth is the most important thing to let out when writting a poem, a song, or pretty much anything. This poem really reminds me of someone I know. It's great when someone can write a poem that not only expresses there own history but that it can be fixed into their own. A great poem.
