Winter's Rose Upon A Bed Of Snow

by OHgreenman   Nov 26, 2007

Moonbeams dance across frosty window panes
Shadows waltz on cold wooden floors
Her lively essence still remains
Satin robe decorates the bedroom door

Faded snapshots occupy insomniac eyes
Pallid face soiled with tremendous grief
Shattered affectionate soul barely alive
Trembling hands supports skull of disbelief

Recalling whispers upon deaths bed
Promises vowed from Goddesses cracked lips
Absorbing every word that was said
Treating each phrase like sacred script

"Passing on my love, you're not alone
Every season search the plateau
You'll find me where I've regrown
As winter's rose upon a bed of snow"

*thank you Mel for the title*

Wonderfully worded poem. Imagery vivid, yet subtle. I mostly liked it cuz the poem wasn't dramatized. Last stanza is superb.

This was such a beautiful piece of poetry Greenie. You worked the title into a gorgeous poem which captured my heart. Each line was filled with so much emotion. Written in such great depth. The word choice elegant and delicate. A flowing piece which I deeply enjoyed. ~Mel
