The Ending Venture

The Ending Venture

-This is a very old poem of mine that I had notice I never put on the site, and though I don't feel this way anymore, I still thought it should be credited for memories.

When you speak to me now
Does it mean nothing?
The lack of you slips away
At my loneliness, at my heart.
We thought we could stand against
This test of time, this waste of pain,
But now, this ending venture, it all fades.

How did it come to this?
Why do you disappear,
As though you are fleeing me
And taking my heart with you
Like a shadow, fading ever more.
