Silence (About Insomnia)

by Beyond Repair   Nov 27, 2007

Have you ever been in silence so deep you can only hear yourself breath
Have you heard that kind of silence its a silence you can feel
You can taste it, you can see it, you can smell it, you can be it
The kind of silence that takes over you mind
The kind of silence that makes you want to cry
The kind of silence that brings dark clouds over your thoughts
The kind of silence that makes you want to do bad things
The kind of silence that makes you hate everything
This kind of silence keeps me awake in my bed
When its loud or not its all I hear in my head
It take a hold of me and attaches it self
Have you ever felt these things I have felt
Have you ever gone a week without sleep
Just because the silence makes you think
No matter if its joyful or scary any topic to keep you awake
The silence will test how much you can take
It will find your week spot and put it on your mind
And when the thoughts finally stop your already out of time
The nights already over and you've missed you chance at sleep
Please tell me if you know what I mean

I know exactly what you mean. I literally stare at my ceiling for 8 hours. The only type of dreams I dream are day dreams and it sucks. I cant focus and I forget stuff like crazy. 5/5 its deep.

OMG i know exactly how you feel, i have a chronic illness and insomnia is a big side-effect. I have to have music to go to sleep because of the that silence you discribed so well. Sometimes if i dont have music, its unbearable to take. Really great poem 5/5
