Beneath the Crystal Sky

by Jenn   Nov 27, 2007

I walk along the crowded hallway,
Still hoping somehow youre going to come and take me away.
Just like old times, well fly above the clouds and dance among the stars.
Just like before, well discover that nothing is much too far.

The scrapbook underneath my bed is slowly collecting dust,
And the memories I used to know suddenly seem unjust.
I stand alon¦ no longer whole.
Im missing my other half; the half that fate stole.

I know youre above me, somewhere looking down
Watching over me; begging me not to frown.
But now the time is drawing near,
The day I have to look back on that one dreaded year.

Its hard to think school is reaching its end and you wont grad
You wont be able to get the flight; youll never make it to Scotland.
All your dreams and all your hopes; theyll never come undone.
You lost the battle many people have never won.

This one goes out to you; my friend.
One day well have a new beginning; there is no end.
Another adventure between us two
Just love, and me, and you.

I love this. It's very touching and sad but it made me smile at the same time. It's sweet and genuine. I think you need to edit out the breaks that spell checker puts in - it makes the poem hard to look at. Just delete them and leave out the apostrophee's, that's what i do anyway, stops it from being displayed funny.
    Love the poem. x
