The Dog I Never Had

by mike   Nov 28, 2007

The dog whines to be fed
nudges me until i feed him
stomach growling until I serve him.

In winter night he begs to be let in
crying as the cold wind flows by
waiting by the door hoping that it would open.

He screams at the intruder when I'm gone
protecting me when those who comes to harm me
always guarding me fromn danger.
