Addiction

by Elapsed   Nov 28, 2007

Despite all of the harmful consequences,
these immense recurring urges entice the senses.

Pitiful tolerance-inducing obsessions,
have me lacking the control of my own actions.

Many joyous and beautiful, however desperate situations,
are consuming all of those distant, yet sweet sensations.

Requiring the necessity of good timing and prudence,
having now become a disease upon my independence.

Within this time my lucent fingers begin fumbling,
as her radiant fragrance darns upon all reasoning.

Swiftly becoming doused with this consuming craving,
the bondage in which she holds me is completely revealing.

This paranoia which continues intoxicating my entrails,
cuts deeply into the nervous system with painful withdrawals.

For to me, she is but the sweetest drug that holds all my attention,
without this intoxicating substance I am forever bound.. my addiction.

Awww....it's sweet but also well put. Really sounds like he's addicted to her and that she's intoxicating in every part of his life. The rhyming was good and different because you didn't really hear your everyday easy rhymes. So that was nice too!

    Sam,
Wow. How bound we are by the magic word. We hate that we are addicted but are definitely in love with the pain of it. This was a very powerful write, and very full of very tense, deep emotions. You have done a great job with conveying the feelings of helplessness in this situation.
