This Beautiful Feeling

by Sydney   Nov 28, 2007

Before we met, I believed love wasn't real
My broken heart proved it was a false way to feel
With a fairy-tale ending no longer fixed in my head,
I began to live my life as if I were already dead

A wall thick as stone, building over the years
This barrier I built blocked off all of my fears
I kept my guard up to not let a single man in,
Because all their words were lies; a cold-hearted sin

The moment we met, my wall came shattering down
My insecurities now exposed to my fears all around
Yet, something within allowed you to go deep; to my core
As this feeling took over me that I never felt before

That beautiful feeling grew stronger each day,
As the emotion of love conquered faint feelings of betray
I realized you were the missing puzzle piece all along,
The only piece requisite to finally make me strong

I'm contradicting old beliefs; love seems to be real
No longer does it resemble a deceptive one-sided deal
So before you give up on love, keep this in mind
True love comes unexpectedly, it's not for you to find
