Take My Hand

by Jojalicious   Nov 29, 2007

A tiny bead of light shines through the darkness that is the world,
Through the shadows of hate and the gloom of sorrow, curiosity is borne.
Yet unseen torment rages against the innocence born so true,
You are forced downwards in a spiral of oblivion, no one will mourne.
Shadows scream of hate, drag you down in chains, the chinks of steel sharpening,
You're tortured endlessly, your pain echoes a thousand fold through time.
Screams of anguish echo endlessly around silence, tears of blood streak the darkness,
Crippled and pained, you hunch over broken and lost in a world streaked with grime.
Pressed down and sullied, you're alone through sins of an unforgiving state,
...The bead slowly grows brighter, tears stream down you sooted face.
It all starts again, burning acid in you veins, hot coals against your eyes.
Yet this time is different, above you is a figure, shining with a golden mace.
In it's eyes can comfort be seen, his smile like a warm blanket, he holds out his hand.
"I am here to forgive you my friend. You have my light to guide you through this 'life'".
"Take my hand. You are safe from that which strives to pull you down".
No longer burdened, you are healed by unknown love. No more worry. No more strife.
